96 वर्षीय राम जेठमलानी सुप्रीम कोर्ट के वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता थे. इनकी गिनती देश के नामचीन क्रिमिनल वकीलों में की जाती रही है. वे भाजपा की ओर से राज्यसभा सांसद भी रह चुके हैं। जेठमलानी लादे गए मुकदमों के अलावा अपने बयानों की वजह से भी अक्सर चर्चा में रहते हैं. जेठमलानी ने 17 साल की उम्र में ही वकालत की डिग्री हासिल कर लिया था. तब नियमों में संशोधन कर उन्हें 18 वर्ष की उम्र में प्रैक्टिस करने की इजाज़त दी गई थी, जबकि नियमानुसार प्रैक्टिस की उम्र सीमा 21 वर्ष थी।
उन्होंने दिल्ली स्थित अपने आवास पर अंतिम सांस ली। राम जेठमलानी पिछले दो हफ्ते से गंभीर रूपसे बीमार थे। राम जेठमलानी अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की सरकार में केंद्रीय कानून मंत्री के अलावा शहरी विकास मंत्री थे। जेठमलानी वर्तमान में राष्ट्रीय जनता दल (राजद) से बिहार से राज्यसभा सांसद थे। उन्होंनेराजीव गांधी, इंदिरा गांधी के हत्यारों और संसद पर हमले के दोषी अफजल गुरु का केस भी लड़ा था। जेठमलानी ने चारा घोटालामामले में आरोपी लालू प्रसाद यादव और सोहराबुद्दीन एनकाउंटर मामले में अमित शाह का केस भी लड़ा
