बिलासपुर/ कलेक्टर श्री संजय अग्रवाल के निर्देश पर शहर में स्कूल परिसरों के निकट और सार्वजनिक स्थलों पर तंबाकू उत्पादों की बिक्री और धूम्रपान पर कार्रवाई की गई।औषधि विभाग, नगर निगम और सिरगिट्टी थाना पुलिस की संयुक्त टीम ने तिफरा और न्यू बस स्टैंड क्षेत्र में अभियान चलाया और 10 दुकानों से जुर्माना वसूला।
मुख्य चिकित्सा एवं स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी श्री प्रमोद तिवारी के मार्गदर्शन में की गई कार्रवाई के दौरान डीपीएस, सेंट पॉल, डी के स्कूल और न्यू बस स्टैंड के पास मौजूद कुल 10 दुकानों पर कोटपा एक्ट 2003 की धारा 4 और 6 के उल्लंघन पर 750 रुपए का चालान किया गया। टीम ने तिफरा क्षेत्र की 5 दुकानों को हिदायत दी कि वे स्कूल के 100 गज के दायरे में तंबाकू उत्पादों की बिक्री बंद करें। कोटपा एक्ट की धारा 6 के अनुसार, किसी भी शिक्षण संस्थान के 100 गज के भीतर तंबाकू या इससे जुड़े उत्पाद बेचना पूरी तरह प्रतिबंधित है।
वहीं न्यू बस स्टैंड क्षेत्र में तंबाकू उत्पाद बेचने वाली 5 दुकानों को यह निर्देश दिया गया कि वे अपनी दुकानों पर साफ तौर पर लिखें – “यहाँ धूम्रपान निषेध है” और “18 वर्ष से कम उम्र के बच्चों को तंबाकू उत्पाद नहीं बेचे जाते” कोटपा एक्ट की धारा 4 के तहत किसी भी सार्वजनिक स्थान पर धूम्रपान करना कानूनन अपराध है। कार्रवाई टीम में औषधि निरीक्षक सुनील पंडा,नगर निगम हेल्थ इंस्पेक्टर धीरज,सिरगिट्टी थाना प्रभारी व स्टाफ शामिल रहे। प्रशासन ने व्यापारियों को स्पष्ट चेतावनी दी है कि यदि भविष्य में कोटपा एक्ट का उल्लंघन पाया गया तो सख्त चालानी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। कलेक्टर श्री संजय अग्रवाल ने लोगों से अपील की है कि वे धूम्रपान और तंबाकू उत्पादों के खिलाफ जागरूकता बढ़ाएं और नियमों का पालन करें।
