बिलासपुर । डॉ. पवन विजय मूलतः जौनपुर उत्तर प्रदेश के ग्रामीण अंचल के रहने वाले हैं, आपकी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा गांव में तथा तथा उच्च शिक्षा कानपुर विश्वविद्यालय से हुई है। आपने विश्वविद्यालय में स्वर्ण पदक प्राप्त किया, वर्तमान में डॉ. विजय आई पी विश्वविद्यालय में भारतीय इतिहास और समाज विषय पर अध्यापन कार्य करते हैं। डॉ पवन विजय अपने उत्तर आधुनिक विमर्श के लिए जाने जाते हैं। समाज की मुख्यधारा के अलावा विशेष रूप से हाशिये पर खड़े लोगों की भावनाओं, मनोविज्ञान, उपलब्धि और वंचनाओं का प्रकार्यात्मक विश्लेषण डॉ. विजय के साहित्य की प्रमुख विशेषता है। एक साथ कई आयामों पर काम करना डॉ. विजय की विशेषता है , वह साहित्यकार होने के साथ-साथ समाजशास्त्री, स्तंभकार, सामजिक कार्यकर्ता और शिक्षाविद हैं। डा पवन विजय ग्रामीण रूढ़ियों को विलोपित करने हेतु विभिन्न प्रकल्पों पर कार्यरत हैं।

विभिन्न विषयों पर डॉ विजय ने दर्जनों पुस्तकें लिखी हैं। आपकी लिखी पुस्तकें विश्वविद्यालय में पढ़ाई जाती हैं।डॉ विजय समकालीन साहित्यकारों में महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखते हैं। बोलो गंगापुत्र और फरवरी नोट्स जैसे उपन्यास के लेखक डॉ विजय ने बाल साहित्य पर भी कार्य किया है, आपका काव्य संग्रह कस्तूरी उस घाट मिलेगी पाठकों द्वारा खूब सराहा गया है। ग्राम जीवन पर आधारित पुस्तक जोगी बीर के माध्यम से आप प्रेमचंद की लेखन परम्परा का स्मरण कराते हैं। डॉ विजय के चालीस से अधिक शोधपत्र विभिन्न सेमिनार, कॉन्फ्रेंस और शोध पत्रिकाओं में प्रकाशित हैं।
