रायपुर। छत्तीसगढ़ के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री व जेसीसी-जे सुप्रीमो अजीत जोगी का 74 साल की उम्र में 3.30 बजे निधन हो गया है. जोगी को हार्ट अटैक आने के बाद श्री नारायणा अस्पताल में भर्ती करवाया गया था, जहां 20 दिन तक चले इलाज के बाद आज शुक्रवार को फिर कार्डियक अरेस्ट आने से उनकी मौत हो गई है. अस्पताल प्रबंधन ने जोगी के निधन की पुष्टि कर दी है.
दरअसल अजीत जोगी को हार्ट अटैक आने के बाद 9 मई को देवेंद्र नगर स्थित श्री नारायणा अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था. जिस समय उन्हें हार्ट अटैक आया, तब वो गंगा इमली खा रहे थे. इमली का बीज उनके गले में फंस गया था. अजीत जोगी शुरु से अस्पताल में कोमा में थे और वेंटिलेटर सपोर्ट पर रखा गया था.
अजीत जोगी का जन्म 29 अप्रैल 1946 में बिलासपुर के पेंड्रा में हुआ था. उनका पूरा नाम अजीत प्रमोद कुमार जोगी है. उन्होंने भोपाल से मैकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग की पढ़ाई करके कुछ दिन रायपुर इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज में अध्यापन का काम किया. जोगी 1968 में UPSC में सफल हुए और IPS बने थे. दो साल बाद ही वे IAS बन गए. वो रायपुर, शहडोल और इंदौर में 14 साल तक कलेक्टर रहे हैं.
मध्यप्रदेश के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री अर्जुन सिंह के सुझाव पर राजनीति में आए. 1 नवंबर 2000 को जब छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य बना, तब जोगी छत्तीसगढ़ के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री बने. मुख्यमंत्री के तौर पर उनका कार्यकाल 9 नवंबर 2000 से 6 दिसंबर 2003 तक था. महासमुंद लोकसभा सीट से वो पहली बार सांसद का चुनाव जीते थे, 2004 से 2009 तक वे सांसद रहे.
रायपुर में कलेक्टर थे, उस समय राजीव गांधी के संपर्क में आ गए. जब राजीव गांधी रायपुर रुकते थे तो एयरपोर्ट पर जोगी खुद उनकी मुलाकात करने के लिए पहुंच जाते थे. बताया जाता है कि इस खातिरदारी ने उन्हीं राजनीतिक की टिकट दिला दी. उन्होंने काफी संघर्ष के बाद यह मुकाम हासिल किया था.
जोगी काफी लंबे समय तक कांग्रेस पार्टी में रहे, उसके बाद 2016 में कांग्रेस पार्टी छोड़कर उन्होंने 2018 में अपनी जनता कांग्रेस छत्तीसगढ़ (जेसीसी) नाम से अलग पार्टी बना ली थी.
