वाराणसी — प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी आज सुबह 10:25 बजे अपने संसदीय क्षेत्र वाराणसी लगभग डेढ़ हजार करोड़ रुपये की 40 विकास परियोजाओं की सौगात देने पहुंँचे। मोदी वायुसेना के विशेष विमान से यहां बाबतपुर हवाई अड्डा पहुंँचे जहां उनका स्वागत राज्यपाल आनंदी बेन पटेल, मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ, उपमुख्यमंत्री केशव प्रसाद मौर्या, केंद्रीय मंत्री डॉ. महेंद्र नाथ पांडेय आदि नेताओं ने पुष्प गुच्छ भेंटकर किया। इसके बाद एयरपोर्ट से ही वह सेना के हेलीकाप्टर से बीएचयू हेलीपैड पहुँचे जहाँ से उनका काफिला सड़क मार्ग से जंगमबाड़ी मठ पहुंचा।
उनके द्वारा पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय की 63 फीट ऊंँची प्रतिमा का लोकार्पण किया गया। प्रधानमंत्री बीएचयू में 430 बेड सुपर स्पेशलटी अस्पताल और 74 बेड के साइकिऐट्री अस्पताल का उद्घाटन किये। वे जगदगुरू विश्वाराध्य गुरूकुल के शताब्दी समापन समारोह में शामिल हुये। समारोह में सिद्धांत शिखामणि ग्रंथ के 19 भाषाओं में अनुदित संस्करण एवं इस के मोबाईल ऐप का भी विमोचन किया। मोदी ने जंगमबाड़ी मठ में छठी शताब्दी के ताम्रपत्रों में दर्ज इतिहास का अवलोकन किया। मठ में कार्यक्रम के समापन के बाद प्रधानमंत्री वाराणसी-चंदौली सीमा पर पड़वा क्षेत्र में स्वयंसेवक संघ के चिंतक एवं अध्यक्ष रहे पंडित दीन दयाल उपाध्याय की अब तक की सबसे बड़ी प्रतिमा का अनावरण किये उसके बाद देश की तीसरी निजी ट्रेन ह्यमहाकाल एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनह्ण राष्ट्र को समर्पित किये। इसके बाद मोदी बड़ालालपुर स्थित पंडित दीन दयाल हस्तकला संकुल में ‘वन डिस्ट्रिक्ट वन प्रोडक्ट’ उत्पाद की दो दिवसीय प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किये। और वे हस्तशिल्पयों तथा इसे जुड़े विदेशों से आये प्रतिनिधियों से सीधा संवाद भी किये। अंत में दीनदयाल हस्तकला संकुल में आयोजित ‘काशी एक-रूप अनेक’ कार्यक्रम में शामिल होने के बाद प्रधानमंत्री मोदी दीनदयाल हस्तकला संकुल से एयरपोर्ट और वहाँ से दिल्ली के लिये रवाना हो गये।
