वाराणसी — श्रीलंका के प्रधानमंत्री महिंदा राजपक्षे एक दिवसीय दौरे पर आज एयर इंडिया के विशेष विमान से लाल बहादुर शास्त्री अंतर्राष्ट्रीय एयरपोर्ट वाराणसी पहुंँचे जहांँ पर प्रोटोकाल के अनुसार प्रशासन ने उनकी आगवानी की। इस दौरान वाराणसी एयरपोर्ट निदेशक आकाशदीप ने बुके देकर उनका स्वागत किया। इस दौरान एयरपोर्ट परिसर में एडीजी, कमिश्नर, डीएम व एसएसपी ने भी उनका स्वागत किया। एयरपोर्ट से निकलकर वे बाबा कांशु विश्वनाथ के दर्शन-पूजन के लिये रवाना हुये। बाबा दरबार सहित प्रमुख मार्गों में भारत श्रीलंका के मजबूत रिश्तों के पोस्टर लगाये गये थे। मंदिर पहुँचकर उन्होंनें बाबा कांशी विश्वनाथ का विधि विधान से षोडशोपचार पूजन किया। मंदिर प्रशासन की ओर से श्रीलंका के प्रधानमंत्री को अंगवस्त्रम , प्रसाद , रुद्राक्ष की माला और बाबा की फोटो और पैकेट बंद बाबा का भस्मी भी प्रदान की गयी। माघी पूर्णिमा पर उमड़ी श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ के बीच श्रीलंका के प्रधानमंत्री दर्शन-पूजन के बाद ताज होटल रवाना हुये जहाँ उन्होंने लंच किया। इसके बाद वे भगवान बुद्ध की प्रथम उपदेशस्थली सारनाथ के मूलगंध कुटी विहार में बौध मंदिर में दर्शन-पूजन कर बौद्ध भिक्षुओं से आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करेंगे। विदेशी मेहमान सारनाथ में धमेख स्तूप समेत अन्य पुरातात्विक महत्व के स्थानों का भ्रमण भी करेंगे। प्रधानमंत्री राजपक्ष के दौरे के मद्देनजर यहां सुरक्षा के चाक-चौबंद इंतजाम किये गये हैं। गौरतलब है कि राजपक्ष भारत की चार दिवसीय दौरे पर आये हुये हैं।
प्रधानमंत्री महिंदा राजपक्षे शनिवार को दिल्ली पहुंँचे थे। इस दौरान उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के साथ हैराबाद हाउस में द्विपक्षीय वार्ता की। इससे पहले महिंदा राजपक्षे ने विदेश मंत्री (ईएएम) एस जयशंकर से मुलाकात की। द्विपक्षीय वार्ता के बाद प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि भारत और श्रीलंका पड़ोसी होने के साथ-साथ करीबी दोस्त भी हैं। हमारे क्षेत्र में आतंकवाद एक बड़ी समस्या है, हम दोनों ने इसका डटकर सामना किया है। हम आतंक के खिलाफ अपने सहयोग को और बढ़ायेंगे। प्राचीन धार्मिक नगरी में वाराणसी में पूजा-अर्चना के बाद सोमवार को दर्शन-पूजन के लिये भगवान बुद्ध की ज्ञानस्थली बोधगया होते हुये तिरुपति जायेंगे। अगले दिन मंगलवार को भगवान वेंकटेश्वर के सुप्रभात दर्शन करने के बाद वह स्वदेश के लिये रवाना हो जायेंगे।
