तेलंगाना में महिला वेटरनरी डॉ. प्रियंका रेड्डी से दुष्कर्म और हत्या के मामले पर सोमवार को संसद परिसर में कोरबा लोकसभा क्षेत्र की सांसद श्रीमती ज्योत्सना चरणदास महंत ने घटना को दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण करार देते हुए कहा कि इस घटना ने महिला सुरक्षा को लेकर बड़ा प्रश्न खड़ा कर दिया है। यह सामाजिक बुराई नासूर बनती जा रही है जिस पर वक्त रहते कठोरता दिखाना जरूरी है। महिलाओं पर अत्याचार की घटनाओं का देशभर में खुलकर विरोध होना चाहिए। दुष्कर्मियों को सार्वजनिक फांसी की वकालत करते हुए श्रीमती महंत ने कहा कि दुष्कर्मियों की दया याचना पर भी किसी प्रकार की गुंजाइश नहीं होनी चाहिए। साथ ही इन पर कठोर कार्यवाही होने से इस तरह की घटना को अंजाम देने वालों को सबक और ऐसी कुत्सिक मानसिकता रखने वालों में भय उत्पन्न होगा। श्रीमती महंत ने कहा कि वर्तमान समय में महिलाओं के साथ जिस तरह की घटना को अंजाम दिया जा रहा है वह चिंता का विषय है। महिलाओं पर अपनी मां और बहन के रूप में नजर रखेेंगे तभी महिलाओं का सम्मान बढ़ सकेगा।
