कोरबा लोकसभा क्षेत्र की सांसद श्रीमती ज्योत्सना चरणदास महंत ने संसद में कार्यवाही के दौरान मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय उच्चतर शिक्षा विभाग के मंत्री से शिक्षा व्यवस्था पर सवाल किए। श्रीमती महंत ने मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री से सवाल किया कि निजी स्कूल और महाविद्यालय अत्यधिक फीस वसूल रहे हैं जिसके कारण अभिभावकों को बहुत तकलीफ होती है। निजी विद्यालयों /शिक्षण संस्थानों द्वारा फीस में कमी के लिए राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति द्वारा क्या कोई प्रावधान या सिफारिशें की गई है ? सवाल के उत्तर में मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री रमेश पोखरियाल निशंक ने बताया कि सरकार समाज के सभी वर्गों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा तक समान पहुंच और किफायती शिक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। वर्तमान में सरकार डॉ. कस्तुरीरंगन की अध्यक्षता में प्रारूप राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति तैयार करने के लिए गठित समिति की रिपोर्ट जो कि 31 मई 2019 को मंत्रालय को प्रस्तुत की गई थी, के आधार पर राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति को अंतिम रूप देने की प्रक्रिया में है।
