कोरोना महामारी के खतरे को देखते हुए फैसला, छत्तीसगढ़ की जेलों से 1500 कैदी होंगे रिहा

बिलासपुर। कोरोना महामारी की आशंका को देखते हुए जेलों से 1500 कैदी रिहा किये जायेंगे। यह फैसला राज्य विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण के कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष जस्टिस प्रशांत कुमार मिश्रा की टेली कांफ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से छत्तीसगढ़ शासन के अधिकारियों के साथ हुई बैठक में लिया गया। तिहाड़ जेल दिल्ली के बाद छत्तीसगढ़ दूसरा राज्य है जहां ऐसा फैसला लिया गया है।
राज्य शासन की ओर से अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव सुब्रत साहू, जेल विभाग के प्रमुख सचिव एम के चंद्रवंशी और जेल विभाग के अतिरिक्त महानिदेशक संजय पिल्ले इस टेली कांफ्रेंसिंग में शामिल हुए।
प्रदेश की जेलों में बंद छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के निवासी ऐसे कैदी जिनको किसी मामले में अधिकतम सात साल की सजा हो सकती है या दी गई है उन्हें कुछ शर्तों के साथ जेलों से रिहा करने का निर्णय लिया गया। ऐसे बंदी जिनके मामले की सुनवाई चल रही हो उन्हें 30 अप्रैल तक की निजी मुचलके पर अंतरिम जमानत दे दी जायेगी। ऐसे बंदी जिन्हें सात साल तक की सजा सुनाई जा चुकी है और जेल में तीन माह या उससे अधिक की अवधि व्यतीत कर चुके हों उन्हें 30 अप्रैल तक पैरोल पर छोड़ दिया जायेगा। इन बंदियों को अपना आवेदन अपने जिलों के विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण में जिला जज की ओर से नियुक्त किये गये विशेष जजों के समक्ष प्रस्तुत करना होगा, इसके बाद रिहा करने की कार्रवाई की जायेगी। प्रदेश में इस फैसले से लाभान्वित होने वाले बंदियों की संख्या लगभग 1500 बताई गई है।
कोरोना महामारी के चलते तिहाड़ जेल के करीब तीन हजार कैदी हाल ही में रिहा किए गये थे। छत्तीसगढ़ यह निर्णय लेने वाला देश का दूसरा राज्य है।
