बिलासपुर। छत्तीसगढ़ आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान, सिम्स को मेडिकल कौंसिल ऑफ इंडिया ने एक साथ 18 नई स्नातकोत्तर सीटों की एक ही सत्र में मंजूरी दी है। इस वर्ष शिशु रोग में चार, फार्माकोलॉजी में पांच, नेत्र रोग में तीन, बायोकेमेस्ट्री विभाग में चार तथा नाक-कान-गला विभाग में दो सीटों की मंजूरी मिली है।
सिम्स की स्थापना के बाद से लगातार स्नात्तकोत्तर की अधिक सीटें हासिल करने में प्रबंधन को मुश्किलें आ रही थीं। सन् 2001 में सिम्स मेडिकल कॉलेज की स्थापना हुई थी। स्थापना के दस साल बाद पहली स्नातकोत्तर सीट 2011 मों कम्युनिटी मेडिकल विभाग को मिली थी। वर्ष 2016 में फोरेंसिक मेडिसिन में दो एवं वर्ष 2017 में एनाटॉमी विभाग में तीन सीटें हासिल हुईं। इस तरह से अब कुल 24 पोस्ट ग्रेज्युएट्स सीटें सिम्स को मिल चुकी है। नई सीटों के मिल जाने से एक ओर जहां लोगों को बेहतर उपचार मिल सकेगा वहीं डॉक्टरों की प्रदेश में व्याप्त कमी को दूर करने में भी मदद मिलेगी।
सिम्स के अधिष्ठाता डॉ. पी. के. पात्रा ने बताया कि सिम्स को आगामी कुछ दिनों में 6 और सीटें मिलने की संभावना है। इन सीटों को हासिल करने के लिए सिम्स की अधोसंरचना और संसाधन में लगातार विस्तार किये जा रहे हैं। डॉ. पात्रा ने बताया कि हमारा उद्देश्य सिम्स चिकित्सालय को अतिशीघ्र कोनी स्थित नये भवन परिसर में शिफ्ट करना है, क्योंकि यहां उपचार के लिए आने वाले लोगों की संख्या लगातार बढ़ रही है, जिन्हें बेहतर सुविधा नई जगह पर मिल सकेगी। इस समय प्रतिदिन औसतन बाह्य रोग विभाग में 1500 मरीज आ रहे हैं। आने वाले समय में वर्तमान स्थान पर केवल मेडिकल कॉलेज संचालित होगा और चिकित्सालय नये परिसर में संचालित होगा। ज्ञात हो कि कोनी 40 एकड़ क्षेत्र में सिम्स का मल्टी स्पेश्यिलिटी हॉस्पिटल भवन निर्माणाधीन है। यहां चिकित्सकों के लिए आवास भी बनाया जा रहा है, साथ ही छत्तीसगढ़ गृह निर्माण मंडल के आवासों को भी आवासीय परिसर के लिए चिन्हित किया गया है। अस्पताल का काम अगस्त 2018 से शुरू किया गया है जिसे सितम्बर 2020 तक पूरा करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। मल्टी-स्पेशलिटी अस्पताल में बेसमेंट और ग्राउंड फ्लोर के अलावा 10 मंजिलें होंगी। कुल 240 बिस्तरों वाले इस मल्टी-स्पेशलिटी अस्पताल की आई.सी.यू. में 60 और सामान्य वार्डों में 180 बिस्तर होंगे। कॉर्डियोलॉजी, न्यूरोलॉजी, नेफ्रोलॉजी, यूरोलॉजी, न्यूरोसर्जरी तथा कॉर्डियोथोरिक सर्जरी के विशेषज्ञ यहां लोगों को उच्च स्तरीय चिकित्सा सुविधा प्रदान करेंगे।
इसी परिसर में ही 40 एकड़ में छत्तीसगढ़ आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (सिम्स) का नया भवन भी बनाया जा रहा है। प्रधानमंत्री स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षा योजना के अंतर्गत बिलासपुर में मल्टी-स्पेशलिटी अस्पताल 109 करोड़ रूपए की लागत से बनाया जा रहा है। अस्पताल की कुल लागत का 60 फीसदी खर्च केन्द्र सरकार और 40 फीसदी छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार द्वारा वहन किया जा रहा है।
