बिलासपुर– बिलासपुर नगर निगम में महापौर को लेकर आखिरकार सस्पेंस ख़त्म हो गया है। महापौर के कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी रामशरण यादव निर्विरोध मेयर चुने गए। पिछले कई दिनों के खींचतान के बाद कांग्रेस ने पूर्व महापौर प्रत्याशी राम शरण यादव को महापौर के रूप में मैदान में उतारा, भारतीय जनता पार्टी बिलासपुर के वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने महापौर एवं सभापति का चुनाव नहीं लड़ने का निर्णय लिया। जिसके चलते कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी रामशरण यादव निर्विरोध महापौर निर्वाचित हुए।
बता दें, बिलासपुर नगर निगम में आज महापौर का चुनाव हुआ। कांग्रेस और भाजपा के बीच जोर आजमाइश चल रही थी, क्रास वोटिंग से बचने के लिए कांग्रेस ने अंतिम समय में प्रत्याशी घोषित किया। दलीय आधार पर गौर करें तो 70 वार्ड वाले बिलासपुर नगर निगम में 37 सीट पर कांग्रेस और 32 सीट पर भाजपा के पार्षद हैं। परिणाम आने से पहले ही कांग्रेस के नेता शेख गफ्फार की मौत से एक सीट रिक्त हो गई है। गौरतलब है, कि निकाय चुनाव में कांग्रेस के 35 और कांग्रेस के बागी तीन मिलाकर कुल 38 सीटें जीती हैं। इससे यहां कांग्रेस का पलड़ा भारी था।
