कानपुर। तीन दिन के इस सम्मेलन में पूरे देश से लगभग 1000 नेत्र विशेषज्ञों ने भाग लिया, जिनमें सार्क देश नेपाल, बांग्लादेश, भूटान से भी विशेषज्ञ शामिल थे।
डॉ. मढ़रिया ने बताया इस सम्मेलन में मुख्य रूप से डाइबिटीज से होने वाले अंधत्व की रोकथाम के लिए विभिन्न शोध पत्र पढ़े गए। दिल्ली से आये डॉ. एन. सराफ ने डाइबिटीज के कारण मैकुलर इडिमा से होने वाले अंधत्व के एडवांस ट्रीटमेंट, इंजेक्शन, रेनीबिजूमेब व एफलिबरसेप्ट के बारे में बताया। इस इंजेक्शन से डाइबिटीस के मरीज अंधत्व से बच जाते हैं।
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय डाइबिटीज फेडरेशन के अनुसार विश्व में डाइबिटीज के मरीजों की संख्या 425 मिलियन है और 2045 तक 629 मिलियन हो जायेगी। हमारे देश में सात करोड़ 29 लाख लोग डाइबिटीज से पीड़ित है और यह संख्या विश्व में दूसरे नंबर में है। यह अत्यंत ही खेद का विषय है, इसमें से लगभग 4% डाइबिटीज के कारण अपनी दृष्टि खो देते है और वे अपने परिवार, समाज व देश के लिए बोझ बन जाते है। डाइबिटीज के लगभग 40% लोगों को ये ज्ञान ही नहीं रहता कि इनकी नजर खत्म हो सकती है। इससे बचने के लिए डाइबिटीज कंट्रोल में रखा जाये और अंधत्व से बचने के लिए नियमित 6 माह में अपने आंख के परदे की जाँच करानी चाहिए।
सम्मेलन में मोतियाबिन्द के एडवांस जेप्टो फेको के बारे में डा मढ़रिया ने व्याख्यान दिया व शोध पत्र पढ़ा। बच्चों के मोतियाबिन्द व तिरछेपन के इलाज के लिये पुणे के डॉ मधुका जमावर ने व्याख्यान दिया। दिल्ली के डॉ शशि भास्कर ने कांचबिन्द के अन्धत्व से बचने के लिये इम्प्लांट के बारे में बताया। इसी तरह अन्य नेत्र विशेषज्ञों ने बच्चों के अंधत्व आरओपी के बारे में जानकारी दी। नेत्र के केंसर रेटीनो प्लास्टि रेटिनाइटिस पिंगमिटोसा के इलाज पर हो रहे शोध के बारे में बताया गया।
बिलासपुर में आशीर्वाद नेत्र चिकित्सालय के संचालक डॉ मढ़रिया ने कहा वे अपने इस बहुउद्देशीय कार्यकाल में डायबिटीज से होने वाले अंधत्व के बारे में जनजागरण अभियान चलायेंगे और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर व अपने राज्य छत्तीसगढ़ मे इस मुहिम के तहत पूरी कोशिश करेंगे की डायबिटीज के कारण कोई व्यक्ति अपनी दृष्टि ना गंवाए।
