वर्दी से विजेता तक: सीआरपीएफ जवान तोमन कुमार की पैरा तीरंदाजी में ऐतिहासिक उड़ान, सपना पैरा ओलंपिक में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करना
बिलासपुर,02 फरवरी 2026/कहते हैं कि जब इरादे मजबूत हों, तो विपरीत परिस्थितियाँ भी रास्ता रोक नहीं पातीं। इस कथन को साकार कर दिखाया है बिलासपुर के राज्य प्रशिक्षण केंद्र में प्रशिक्षण ले रहे पैरा तीरंदाज तोमन कुमार ने, जिन्होंने 7वीं एनटीपीसी पैरा राष्ट्रीय तीरंदाजी प्रतियोगिता में शानदार प्रदर्शन कर छत्तीसगढ़ का नाम राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर रोशन किया है।
30 जनवरी से 2 फरवरी 2026 तक एनएसआईएस पटियाला (पंजाब) में आयोजित इस प्रतिष्ठित प्रतियोगिता में तोमन कुमार ने व्यक्तिगत स्पर्धा में रजत पदक तथा टीम स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर राज्य को दोहरी सफलता दिलाई। टीम स्पर्धा में उन्होंने अमित कीर्तनिया के साथ मिलकर यह उपलब्धि हासिल की। बालोद जिले के निवासी तोमन कुमार पिछले दो वर्षों से बिलासपुर आर्चरी एकेडमी में तीरंदाजी का नियमित प्रशिक्षण ले रहे हैं। वे छत्तीसगढ़ पैरा तीरंदाजी टीम के मुख्य प्रशिक्षक श्री मनमोहन पटेल के मार्गदर्शन में अभ्यास कर रहे हैं। उनके प्रशिक्षण सफर में प्रशिक्षक पंकज सिंह का भी महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा है।
उल्लेखनीय है कि तोमन कुमार सीआरपीएफ के जवान रह चुके हैं। नक्सल ऑपरेशन के दौरान हुए आईईडी ब्लास्ट में उन्होंने अपना बायाँ पैर खो दिया, लेकिन इस कठिन हादसे ने उनके हौसले को कमजोर करने के बजाय और अधिक सशक्त बना दिया। जीवन की इस बड़ी चुनौती के बाद उन्होंने खेल को अपना संबल बनाया और पैरा तीरंदाजी में नया मुकाम हासिल किया। तोमन कुमार का सपना है कि वे भविष्य में पैरा ओलंपिक में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करें और अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंच पर देश, राज्य एवं जिले का नाम गौरवान्वित करें। वर्ष 2017 से पूर्व वे सक्रिय रूप से देश सेवा में कार्यरत रहे और आज भी उसी राष्ट्रभक्ति और जज़्बे के साथ खेल के मैदान में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। तोमन कुमार की इस ऐतिहासिक सफलता से बिलासपुर सहित पूरे छत्तीसगढ़ में खेल प्रेमियों में उत्साह और गर्व का माहौल है। उनकी संघर्षगाथा न केवल पैरा खिलाड़ियों बल्कि सामान्य युवाओं के लिए भी प्रेरणास्रोत है।
आज तोमन कुमार केवल एक सफल पैरा तीरंदाज ही नहीं, बल्कि छत्तीसगढ़ के पैरा खेल जगत के लिए एक युथ आइकॉन के रूप में उभरकर सामने आए हैं। उनकी इस उपलब्धि पर प्रदेश में पैरा खेलों को नई पहचान, आत्मविश्वास और दिशा प्रदान करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगी। तोमन कुमार की उपलब्धि पर खेल अधिकारी ए. एक्का सहित विभिन्न खेल संघ से जुड़े अधिकारियों ने शुभकामनाएं दी है।
