स्वीप में बनाया रिकॉर्ड, वोटिंग में सबसे पीछे:बिलासपुर में लाखों खर्च करने के बाद भी नहीं बढ़ा मतदान;घर से नहीं निकले 7.40 लाख वोटर्स
बिलासपुर में लोकसभा चुनाव के लिए शत-प्रतिशत वोटिंग का दावा कर जिला प्रशासन ने स्वीप मतदाता जागरूकता अभियान में भले ही वर्ल्ड रिकार्ड बना लिया, लेकिन वोट प्रतिशत बढ़ाने में अफसर पूरी तरह से नाकाम साबित हुए। मतदाता जागरूकता अभियान में लाखों रुपए खर्च करने पर भी स्थिति ये रही कि 7 लाख 40 हजार 816 मतदाताओं ने वोट ही नहीं किया और बिलासपुर में सबसे कम मतदान हुआ।
विधानसभा चुनाव की तरह लोकसभा चुनाव में भी लाखों खर्च करने के बावजूद मतदान बढ़ने के बजाय उल्टे घट गया। जिला निर्वाचन कार्यालय ने मतदाताओं को जागरूक करने 100 से अधिक कार्यक्रम किए। इसमें क्रिकेट प्रतियोगिता, रंगोली, दीप प्रज्वलन, मानव श्रृंखला, वाद-विवाद, जागरूकता रैली, साइकिल रैली ही नहीं थर्ड जेंडर को भी मतदान की शपथ दिलाई गई। जागरूकता अभियान चलाकर गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड भी बना लिया गया। इसके बावजूद प्रशासनिक अमला मतदाताओं को पोलिंग बूथ तक लाकर मतदान कराने में नाकाम रहा।
