रायपुर — वैशाख मास शुक्ल पक्ष की तृतीया यानी अक्षय तृतीया यानि आज ही के दिन भगवान परशुराम का जन्म हुआ था इसलिये इस दिन परशुराम जयंती भी मनायी जाती है। भगवान परशुराम विष्णु भगवान के छठवें अवतार हैं। माना जाता है कि कलयुग में आज भी ऐसे आठ चिरंजीव देवता और महापुरुष हैं जो जीवित हैं , इन्हीं आठ चिरंजीवियों में से एक भगवान परशुराम भी हैं। मत्स्य पुराण के अनुसार इस दिन जो कुछ दान किया जाता है वह अक्षय रहता है यानि इस दिन किये गये दान का कभी भी क्षय नहीं होता है। सतयुग का प्रारंभ अक्षय तृतीया से ही माना जाता है।अक्षय तृतीया के दिन का धार्मिक शास्त्रों और पुराणों में भी जिक्र मिलता है। कहा जाता है कि इस दिन त्रेतायुग की शुरुआत हुई थी। इस दिन ही त्रेता युग का भी आरंभ हुआ। वहीं उत्तराखंड के अधिष्ठाता बद्रीनाथ का ग्रीष्मकालीन पट इसी दिन खुलता है। काशी में गंगा स्नान के साथ त्रिलोचन महादेव की यात्रा, पूजन-वंदन का विशेष महत्व है। कहा जाता है कि महाभारत में भी अक्षय तृतीया की तिथि का जिक्र है। महाभारत में बताया गया है कि इस दिन दुर्वासा ऋषि ने द्रोपदी को अक्षय पात्र दिया था। महाभारत में बताया जाता है कि जब पांडवों को वन में 13 सालों के लिये जाना पड़ा तो एक दिन उनके वनवास के दौरान दुर्वासा ऋषि उनकी कुटिया में आये। ऐसे में सभी पांडवों और द्रोपदी ने घर में जो कुछ रखा था उनसे उनका अतिथि सत्कार किया। दुर्वासा ऋषि द्रोपदी के इस अतिथि सत्कार से बहुत प्रसन्न हुये। जिसके बाद उन्होंने प्रसन्न होकर द्रोपदी को अक्षय पात्र उपहार में दिया।
पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार भगवान परशुराम का जन्म भृगुश्रेष्ठ महर्षि जमदग्नि द्वारा सम्पन्न पुत्रेष्टि यज्ञ से हुआ। यज्ञ से प्रसन्न देवराज इन्द्र के वरदान स्वरूप पत्नी रेणुका के गर्भ से वैशाख शुक्ल तृतीया को एक बालक का जन्म हुआ था। पिता ऋषि जमदग्नि एवं माता रेणुका के पाँच पुत्रों रूक्मान , सुखेण , वसु , विश्वानस तथा सबसे छोटे पुत्र परशुराम हुये। ऋचीक-सत्यवती के पुत्र जमदग्नि, जमदग्नि-रेणुका के पुत्र परशुराम थे। ऋचीक की पत्नी सत्यवती राजा गाधि (प्रसेनजित) की पुत्री और विश्वमित्र (ऋषि विश्वामित्र) की बहिन थी। ब्राह्मण होते हुये भी इन्हें क्षत्रियों की तरह एक वीर योद्धा के रूप में जाना जाता है। भगवान परशुराम भारत की ऋषि परंपरा के महान संवाहक हैं , उनका शस्त्र और शास्त्र दोनों पर ही समान अधिकार रहा है। भगवान परशुराम का मानना था कि अन्याय करना और सहना दोनों पाप है , इसलिये उनका फरसा सदैव अन्याय के खिलाफ उठा है।
चक्रतीर्थ में किये गये कठिन तप से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान विष्णु ने उन्हें त्रेता में रामावतार होने पर कल्पांत पर्यन्त तपस्यारत भूलोक पर रहने का वर दिया। ऐसा माना जाता है कि भगवान परशुराम आज भी महेन्द्रगिरी पर्वत पर तपस्यारत हैं। वह भगवान विष्णु के अवतार माने जाते हैं।पितामह भृगु द्वारा सम्पन्न नामकरण संस्कार के अनन्तर राम, जमदग्नि का पुत्र होने के कारण जामदग्न्य और शिवजी द्वारा प्रदत्त परशु धारण करने के कारण वह परशुराम कहलाये। उन्होंने अपने पिता की आज्ञा पर अपनी मांँ का वध कर दिया था जिसके बाद परशुराम पर मातृहत्या का पाप लगा था। जिसके बाद उन्होंने भगवान शिव की तपस्या की और इसी के बाद परशुराम को मातृहत्या के पाप से मुक्ति मिली। इसके साथ ही भगवान शिव ने उन्हें मृत्युलोक के कल्याणार्थ परशु अस्त्र प्रदान किया था, जिसके कारण वे परशुराम कहलाये। ये भगवान शिव के परम भक्त एवं न्याय के देवता जाने जाते हैं। शिवजी से उन्हें श्रीकृष्ण का त्रैलोक्य विजय कवच, स्तवराज स्तोत्र एवं मन्त्र कल्पतरु भी प्राप्त हुये। वे शस्त्रविद्या के महान गुरु थे। उन्होंने भीष्म, द्रोण व कर्ण को शस्त्रविद्या प्रदान की थी। उन्होंने एकादश छन्दयुक्त “शिव पंचत्वारिंशनाम स्तोत्र” भी लिखा। परशुराम जी का उल्लेख रामायण, महाभारत, भागवत पुराण और कल्कि पुराण इत्यादि अनेक ग्रन्थों में किया गया है।
भगवान परशुराम जी के पिता महर्षि जमदग्नि ने जनकेश्वर शिवलिंग की स्थापना कर अत्यन्त कठोर तपस्या की थी। तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान शिवजी ने महर्षि जमदग्नि को वरदान स्वरूप समस्त कामनाओं की पूर्ति करने वाली कामधेनू गाय प्रदान की थी। एक बार सहस्त्रार्जुन अपनी पूरी सेना के साथ जंगलों से पार करता हुआ जमदग्नि ऋषि के आश्रम में विश्राम करने के लिये पहुंँचा। महर्षि जमदग्रि ने सहस्त्रार्जुन को आश्रम का मेहमान समझकर स्वागत सत्कार में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी। महर्षि ने उस कामधेनु गाय के मदद से कुछ ही पलों में देखते ही देखते पूरी सेना के भोजन का प्रबंध कर दिया। कामधेनु के ऐसे विलक्षण गुणों को देखकर सहस्त्रार्जुन को ऋषि के आगे अपना राजसी सुख कम लगने लगा। उसके मन में ऐसी अद्भुत गाय को पाने की लालसा जागी। उसने ऋषि जमदग्नि से कामधेनु को मांगा। किंतु ऋषि जमदग्नि ने कामधेनु को आश्रम के प्रबंधन और जीवन के भरण-पोषण का एकमात्र जरिया बताकर कामधेनु को देने से इंकार कर दिया। इस पर सहस्त्रार्जुन ने क्रोधित होकर ऋषि जमदग्नि के आश्रम को उजाड़ दिया और कामधेनु को ले जाने लगा। तभी कामधेनु सहस्त्रार्जुन के हाथों से छूट कर स्वर्ग की ओर चली गयी। जब परशुराम अपने आश्रम पहुंँचे तब उनकी माता रेणुका ने उन्हें सारी बातें विस्तारपूर्वक बतायी। परशुराम माता-पिता के अपमान और आश्रम को तहस नहस देखकर आवेशित हो गए। पराक्रमी परशुराम ने उसी वक्त दुराचारी सहस्त्रार्जुन और उसकी सेना का नाश करने का संकल्प लिया और दुष्ट सहस्त्रार्जुन का वध कर दिया।सहस्त्रार्जुन के वध के बाद पिता के आदेश से इस वध का प्रायश्चित करने के लिये परशुराम तीर्थ यात्रा पर चले गये। तब मौका पाकर सहस्त्रार्जुन के पुत्रों ने अपने सहयोगी क्षत्रियों की मदद से तपस्यारत महर्षि जमदग्रि का उनके ही आश्रम में सिर काटकर उनका वध कर दिया।
सहस्त्रार्जुन पुत्रों ने आश्रम के सभी ऋषियों का वध करते हुये आश्रम को जला डाला। माता रेणुका ने सहायता वश पुत्र परशुराम को विलाप स्वर में पुकारा। जब परशुराम माता की पुकार सुनकर आश्रम पहुंँचे तो माता को विलाप करते देखा और माता के समीप ही पिता का कटा सिर देखकर परशुराम बहुत क्रोधित हुये और उन्होंने शपथ ली कि वह हैहय वंश का ही सर्वनाश कर देंगे। इसके बाद भगवान परशुराम ने 21 बार पृथ्वी को क्षत्रिय विहीन करके उनके रक्त से समन्तपंचक क्षेत्र के पाँच सरोवर को भर कर अपने संकल्प को पूरा किया। ये दुर्वासा मुनि की तरह क्रोधी स्वभाव के थे। इनके क्रोध से भगवान गणेश भी नही बच पाये थे। ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण में एक प्रसंग आता है जब परशुरामजी शिवजी से मिलने कैलाश पर आते है पर श्री गणेश उन्हें मिलने नही देते | दोनों के बीच भीष्म युद्ध होता है और इस युद्ध में परशुराम जी अपने फरसे से श्री गणेश का एक दांत तोड़ देते हैं जिसके कारण से भगवान गणेश एकदंत कहलाये। महाभारत के अनुसार महाराज शांतनु के पुत्र भीष्म ने भगवान परशुराम से ही अस्त्र-शस्त्र की विद्या प्राप्त की थी। एक बार भीष्म काशी में हो रहे स्वयंवर से काशीराज की पुत्रियों अंबा, अंबिका और अंबालिका को अपने छोटे भाई विचित्रवीर्य के लिये उठा लाये थे। तब अंबा ने भीष्म को बताया कि वह मन ही मन किसी और का अपना पति मान चुकी है तब भीष्म ने उसे ससम्मान छोड़ दिया लेकिन हरण कर लिये जाने पर उसने अंबा को अस्वीकार कर दिया। तब अंबा भीष्म के गुरु परशुराम के पास पहुंँची और उन्हें अपनी व्यथा सुनायी। अंबा की बात सुनकर भगवान परशुराम ने भीष्म को उससे विवाह करने के लिये कहा लेकिन ब्रह्मचारी होने के कारण भीष्म ने ऐसा करने से इंकार कर दिया। तब परशुराम और भीष्म में भीषण युद्ध हुआ और अंत में अपने पितरों की बात मानकर भगवान परशुराम ने अपने अस्त्र रख दिये। इस प्रकार इस युद्ध में न किसी की हार हुई ना किसी की जीत। कुन्ती पुत्र कर्ण अपना सही परिचय छिपाकर भगवान परशुराम से अस्त्र शस्त्र की शिक्षा लेते है | एक दिन जब परशुराम जो को पता चलता है की कर्ण भी क्षत्रिय वंश से है तो वे उन्हें श्राप देते है कि जब तुम्हें सबसे ज्यादा अस्त्र शस्त्र की विद्या के जरुरत पड़ेगी तभी तुम यह भूल जाओगे | इसी श्राप के कारण महाभारत में कर्ण की मृत्यु हो जाती है।
