श्री एल० पी० वर्मा सीनियर स्टाफ आफिसर को २६ जनवरी “राष्ट्रीय पर्व गणतंत्र दिवस राज्य स्तरीय समारोह पुलिस ग्राउंड रायपुर में महामहिम राज्यपाल छ.ग. सुश्री अनुसुईया उइके द्वारा राट्रपति पदक से अलंकृत किये गए |श्री एल०पी० वर्मा पिता श्री गया राम वर्मा (से.नि. उपनिरीक्षक) सीनियर स्टाफ आफिसर नगर सेना मुख्यालय छत्तीसगढ़ रायपुर, म.प्र. लोक सेवा आयोग १९९७ में चयनित अधिकारी है ! पं जवाहर लाल नेहरु पुलिस अकादमी सागर व् प्रशासनिक अकेडमी भोपाल में बुनियादी व् आधारभूत प्रशिक्षण के उपरांत वर्ष २००१ में पहली पोस्टिंग दंतेवाडा में होने के बाद लगातार १० वर्ष बस्तर में अपनी सेवाएँ दी ! वर्ष २००६ में सुकमा/कोंटा में आई भीषण बाढ़ के दौरान भारतीय वायुसेना के साथ मिलकर बाद में फसे हजारो लोगो को ऍमआई-१७ हेलीकाप्टर से रेस्क्यू कर सुरक्षित निकाला गया !
जुलाई २००६ में काकड़ीघाट, नारंगी नदी जगदलपुर में बाढ़ से घिरे ४० लोगो को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाल कर प्राणरक्षा का अनुकरणीय कार्य किया ! श्री वर्मा नई दिल्ली, बंगलोर, हैदराबाद, नागपुर में आयोजित सेमिनारों में प्रदेश का नेतृत्व किया। ५०० जावानों के साथ हैदराबाद (तेलंगाना) गये। वे लोक सभा व विधान सभा चुनाव डियुटी छ.ग./म.प्र./तेलंगाना में भी अपनी सेवायें दी है। वर्ष २०१९ में श्री वर्मा के कुशल नेतृत्व में १५०० जवानों के साथ तेलंगाना ’’खम्मम’’ विधानसभा चुनाव डियुटी के दायित्वों का सफलतापूर्वक निर्वहन किया। श्री वर्मा को अनेकों बार राष्ट्रीय पर्व गणतंत्र दिवस एवं स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह में उल्लेखनीय कार्य हेतु शासन द्वारा ’’प्रशसा पत्र प्रदान’’ किये गये है। श्री वर्मा को वर्ष २०११ में नागरिक सुरक्षा/होमगार्ड/अग्निशमन सेवा में अपने कार्य कुशलता और ईमानदारी का परिचय हेतु हुए विभाग की उंची परंपराओं का अनुकरणीय उदाहरण प्रस्तुत करने के लिए महानिदेशक, नागरिक सुरक्षा गृह मंत्रालय भारत सरकार नई दिल्ली का ’’प्रशसा पत्र व डिस्क प्रदान’’ किया गया। श्री वर्मा के कुशल नेतृत्व में रायपुर में हाल ही में हुई के.टी. प्लाजा, तुलसी होटल व रविभवन के भीषण आग को एस.डी.आर.एफ. के जवानों द्वारा आग पर काबू पाया गया। वर्तमान में वे सीनियर स्टाफ आफिसर नगर सेना मुख्यालय छ.ग. रायपुर के पद पर कार्यरत है। राष्ट्रपति पदक प्राप्त कर श्री वर्मा ने गृह विभाग का गौरव बढ़ाया है।
