सोमवार दोपहर बाद राज्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त ठाकुर राम सिंह ने छत्तीसगढ़ में निकाय चुनाव की तारीखों का ऐलान कर दिया । इस बार 21 दिसंबर को सुबह 8:00 बजे से शाम 5:00 बजे तक नगर निगम के लिए मतदान होगा। इसके लिए आगामी 30 नवंबर को नोटिफिकेशन जारी हो जाएगा। 30 नवंबर को ही आरक्षण की सूचना और मतदाता सूची के प्रकाशन के साथ नामांकन की प्रक्रिया भी आरंभ हो जाएगी।
नामांकन की प्रक्रिया 6 दिसंबर तक चलेगी वहीं 7 दिसंबर को सुबह 10:00 बजे से स्क्रूटनी का काम होगा । अभ्यर्थी 9 दिसंबर 3:00 बजे तक अपना नाम वापस ले सकेंगे। नाम वापसी के तुरंत बाद अंतिम सूची का प्रकाशन होगा और प्रत्याशियों को चुनाव चिन्ह का आवंटन किया जाएगा। 21 दिसंबर शनिवार को नगर निगम के लिए मतदान किया जाएगा। मतदान सुबह 8:00 बजे से शाम 5:00 बजे तक होगा लेकिन नक्सली प्रभावित कोंडागांव, नारायणपुर कांकेर, सुकमा , दंतेवाड़ा और बीजापुर में चुनाव का समय सुबह 7:00 से 3:00 बजे तक होगा 24 दिसंबर मंगलवार को मतगणना होगी। इस बार जो कि बैलेट पेपर से मतदान होगा इसलिए मतगणना के लिए टेबल की संख्या बढ़ाने की बात भी चुनाव आयुक्त ठाकुर राम सिंह ने कही है। इस बार 168 निकाय के लिए एक चरण नहीं होने वाले मतदान हेतु 5406 मतदान केंद्र बनाए जाएंगे। इसमें दस नगर निगम 38 नगरपालिका और 103 नगर पंचायत शामिल है । कुल 2840 वार्ड है जिसके लिए लगभग 40 लाख मतदाता मताधिकार का प्रयोग करेंगे। जिसके लिए 5406 मतदान केंद्र बनाए जाएंगे। चुनाव की तारीखों के ऐलान के साथ ही आदर्श आचार संहिता भी लागू हो गई है।
