विश्व गौरैया दिवस: संरक्षण के लिए जागरूकता बढ़ाने पर जोर
रायपुर।विश्व गौरैया दिवस के अवसर पर 20 मार्च को छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य जैव विविधता बोर्ड एवं राज्य वेटलैंड प्राधिकरण के मार्गदर्शन में एक वेबीनार का सफल आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम में विषय विशेषज्ञों, पर्यावरणविदों, पक्षी मित्रों, पैराटैक्सोनॉमिस्ट, विभिन्न महाविद्यालयों के प्राध्यापकों तथा छात्र-छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। वेबीनार के संयोजक मातेश्वरन व्ही. सदस्य सचिव, छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य जैव विविधता बोर्ड एवं राज्य वेटलैंड प्राधिकरण ने अपने उद्बोधन में गौरैया की घटती संख्या पर चिंता व्यक्त की। उन्होंने कहा कि गौरैया संरक्षण के लिए सामूहिक प्रयासों की आवश्यकता है। साथ ही, उन्होंने प्रतिभागियों से इस दिशा में सक्रिय रूप से कार्य करने और बोर्ड के साथ सहयोग करने का आह्वान किया।
कार्यक्रम में डॉ. हितनारायण टंडन, सहायक प्राध्यापक, संत गुरु घासीदास शासकीय पीजी महाविद्यालय, कुरूद ने प्रस्तुतीकरण के माध्यम से गौरैया की घटती संख्या के कारणों, सुरक्षा उपायों एवं संरक्षण के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर विस्तृत जानकारी दी। द्वितीय वक्ता के रूप में जागेश्वर वर्मा, ई-बर्ड (छत्तीसगढ़) के रिव्यूअर ने गौरैया के लिए अनुकूल आवास विकसित करने की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया। उन्होंने शहरीकरण के प्रभावों को कम करने और पक्षियों के लिए सुरक्षित वातावरण तैयार करने के उपाय बताए। वेबीनार के दौरान प्रतिभागियों द्वारा पूछे गए प्रश्नों का विशेषज्ञों ने समाधान भी किया।
विश्व गौरैया दिवस हर साल 20 मार्च को मनाया जाता है, जिसका उद्देश्य शहरीकरण और प्रदूषण के कारण तेजी से विलुप्त हो रही गौरैया (Passer domesticus) के संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना है। यह दिन इस नन्हीं चिड़िया के महत्व और पर्यावरण में उनकी भूमिका को रेखांकित करता है। कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य गौरैया संरक्षण के प्रति जन- जागरूकता बढ़ाना तथा जैव विविधता संरक्षण से जुड़ी शासकीय पहल को मजबूत करना रहा। गौरैया की घटती आबादी की ओर ध्यान आकर्षित करना और उनके लिए अनुकूल माहौल (दाने-पानी की व्यवस्था) बनाना।
