उच्च न्यायालय और उनकी न्यायपीठों की क्षेत्राधिकार पर जानकारी मांगी थी। साथ ही यह भी पूछा था कि, छत्तीसगढ़ सहित विभिन्न राज्य सरकारों से उच्च न्यायालयों और उनकी न्यायपीठों की स्थापना के लिए प्राप्त अनुरोधों की जानकारी मांगी थी।

जिसपर मेघवाल ने स्पष्ट किया कि उच्च न्यायालयों की नई खंडपीठों की स्थापना के लिए राज्य सरकारों से पूर्ण प्रस्ताव प्राप्त होना अनिवार्य है। ऐसे प्रस्ताव में अवसंरचना, व्यय प्रावधान और संबंधित उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश की सिफारिश शामिल होनी चाहिए।

उन्होंने बताया कि वर्तमान में, सरकार के पास किसी भी उच्च न्यायालय की नई खंडपीठ स्थापित करने के लिए कोई पूर्ण प्रस्ताव लंबित नहीं है।बता दें कि, लंबे समय से रायपुर में छत्तीसगढ़ हाईकोर्ट की खंडपीठ की मांग की जा रही है।
