चाँपा — समीपस्थ गौरव ग्राम अफरीद में शासन के नियमों की धज्जियाँ उड़ाते हुये उद्योगनिर्माण का कार्य चरम सीमा पर है। ग्रामवासियों द्वारा लगातार धरना , आंदोलन एवं उच्च अधिकारियों को आवेदन देने के बाद भी शासन , प्रशासन मौन है और उनके द्वारा केवल आश्वासनों का दौर जारी है जिससे ग्रामवासियों में रोष व्याप्त है।
इस संबंध में मिली जानकारी के अनुसार जाँजगीर चाँपा जिले के बम्हनीडीह विकासखंड के अंतर्गत ग्राम अफरीद को अंचल के महान विभूति के जन्मस्थली के कारण शासन द्वारा गौरव ग्राम घोषित किया गया है। वही ग्राम आज उद्योगपति की मनमानी , स्थानीय प्रशासन द्वारा उद्योग को नियम विरूद्ध संरक्षण , ग्रामसभा / ग्रामपंचायत के आपत्तियों पर कार्यवाही ना करते हुये स्थानीय प्रशासन के द्वारा उनको रद्दी के डिब्बे में डालने जैसी कार्यवाही से गांव वाले इस दुर्दशा पर आंसू बहाते हुये अपने गांव / खेत को बर्बाद होते देखने को विवश हैं।यह वाक्या यह सोचने को विवश करता है कि शायद इतनी मनमानी अंग्रेजों के जमाने में भी नहीं रही होगी। चाम्पा शहर के आसपास के गांव सिलिका उद्योग के चपेट में हैं। चाम्पा शहर में कुछ उद्योग स्थापित थे बाद में समीप के गांव बहेराडीह में इसका विस्तार किया गया। वहाँ पर सिलिका उद्योग के दुष्प्रभाव के कारण विरोध होने पर अब उनका नया ठिकाना अफरीद अौर भंवरमाल को बनाया जा रहा है। सिलिका आधारित उद्योग को अनुपयोगी / बंजर जमीन में बस्ती से दूर स्थापित होना चाहिये ये नीतियांँ सिर्फ कागजी होती है तभी तो ग्राम अफरीद में सघन कृषि क्षेत्र में जीवनदायिनी नाला के ठीक ऊपर स्थापित किया जा रहा है । नाला एवं आसपास के शासकीय जमीन पर उद्योग द्वारा कब्जा किया जा रहा है , नाले के पाट में स्थित सैकड़ों पेड़ को काट दिया गया है , जल के दोहन से जलस्तर में लगातार कमी होती जा रही है। आश्चर्य की बात है अभी तक इन 06 उद्योग समूह के द्वारा क्या उत्पाद बनाया जायेगा ? यह भी अभी तक लिखित में घोषित नहीं है जबकि पर्यावरण विभाग , उद्योग विभाग उपरोक्त उद्योग को अनुमति से इंकार करता है। ग्रामीणों ने सभी जगह आपत्ति दर्ज करायी और लगातार आंदोलन भी किया , ग्रामपंचायत के एन०ओ० सी० को फर्जी होने की शिकायत की फिर भी उद्योग पर कार्यवाही शून्य है। चुनाव के चलते आचार-संहिता , वर्तमान में कोरोना संकट में शासन के पास व्यस्तता का बहाना धड़ल्ले से उद्योग निर्माण को सहायक सिद्ध हो रहा है। इस उद्योग स्थापना के चलते गांव में छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार की महत्वाकांक्षी योजना नरवा , घुरवा , गरवा , बाड़ी की धज्जियाँ उड़ायी जा रही है , रोम जल रहा हो और (नीरो) शासक बंशी बजाता रहे ऐसा इतिहास में होता रहा है , शायद नियति को यही मंजूर है। चाम्पा का यह क्षेत्र कभी कृषिप्रधान था अब इसकी पहचान सिलिकाप्रधान होने जा रही है जो ग्रामवासियों के लिये बहुत बड़े दुर्भाग्य का विषय है। मिली जानकारी के अनुसार आंदोलन के अगले चरण में ग्रामवासियों द्वारा जेल भरो आंदोलन करने की तैयारी की जा रही है।
