नई दिल्ली/ कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता होंगे। पार्टी ने मंगलवार (25 जून) को कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे के आवास पर इंडिया गठबंधन के नेताओं की बैठक के बाद इसकी घोषणा की। इसके बाद कांग्रेस संसदीय बोर्ड की अध्यक्ष सोनिया गांधी ने प्रोटेम स्पीकर भर्तृहरि माहताब को इस संदर्भ में पत्र लिखा।
राहुल अपने 20 साल के पॉलिटिकल करियर में पहली बार कोई संवैधानिक पद संभालेंगे। वे इस पद पर रहने वाले गांधी परिवार के तीसरे सदस्य होंगे। इससे पहले उनके पिता और पूर्व PM राजीव गांधी 1989-90 और मां सोनिया 1999 से 2004 तक इस पद पर रह चुकी हैं।
