गरियाबंद। छत्तीसगढ़ में अनेकों प्राचीन मंदिर हैं जो लोगों के आस्था का केंद्र बना हुआ हैं। वहीं गरियाबंद जिले में एक ऐसे माता के मंदिर है, जो साल में एक बार चैत्र नवरात्र में खुलता है। कहते हैं कि निरई माता की मंदिर में हर वर्ष चैत्र नवरात्र के दौरान अपने आप ही ज्योति प्रज्जवलित होती है। यह चमत्कार कैसे होता है, यह आज तक पहेली ही बना हुआ है। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि यह निरई देवी का ही चमत्कार है कि बिना तेल के ज्योति नौ दिनों तक जलती रहती है। बता दें कि छत्तीसगढ़ के गरियाबंद जिला मुख्यालय से 12 किलोमीटर पहले ग्राम मोहेरा में निरई माता मंदिर पहाड़ी पर स्थित है। निरई माता ऊंची पहाड़ी पर पत्थरों के बीच वनों से आच्छादित प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य की गोद में विराजित है। माता का नाम लेके ही भक्त अपनी मनोकामना पूरी करते हैं। माता का दरबार वर्ष में एक बार चैत्र नवरात्र के प्रथम रविवार को सिर्फ 5 घंटे के लिए ही खुलता है।

आज के दिन भक्तों का मेला लगता है। श्रद्धालु दूर-दूर से छत्तीसगढ़ के अलावा दूसरे राज्य से भी मातारानी के दर्शन को आते हैं। भक्त कहते हैं जो भी निरई माता को श्रद्धाभाव से मानते हैं, उनकी मुरादें पूरी होती है। श्रद्धालु इस दिन लाखों के संख्या में आते है। बताया जाता है कि निरई माता के मंदिर में सिंदूर, सुहाग, श्रृंगार, कुमकुम, गुलाल, बंदन नहीं चढ़ाया जाता है।
