विरासत का सम्मान, बीसीसीआई ने रिटायर की धोनी की 7 नंबर की जर्सी
मुंबई। बीसीसीआई ने पूर्व कप्तान महेंद्र सिंह धोनी की समृद्ध विरासत का सम्मान करते हुए उनके द्वारा पहने वाले नंबर 7 की जर्सी को रिटायर करने का फैसला किया है. इसके पहले इस तरह का सम्मान पाने वाले सचिन तेंदुलकर एकमात्र क्रिकेटर थे. 2017 में उनके शानदार करियर और खेल में योगदान को सम्मान देते हुए 10 नंबर की जर्सी को भी रिटायर कर दिया गया था. मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के अनुसार, बीसीसीआई ने राष्ट्रीय टीम के खिलाड़ियों, खासकर नए खिलाड़ियों को सूचित किया है कि उनके पास तेंदुलकर और धोनी से जुड़े नंबरों का विकल्प नहीं है. बोर्ड के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि युवा खिलाड़ियों और वर्तमान भारतीय टीम के खिलाड़ियों को एम एस धोनी की नंबर 7 जर्सी नहीं चुनने के लिए कहा गया है. बीसीसीआई ने खेल में उनके योगदान के लिए धोनी की टी-शर्ट को रिटायर करने का फैसला किया है. एक नए खिलाड़ी को जर्सी नंबर 7 नहीं मिल सकता और नंबर 10 पहले से ही उपलब्ध नंबरों की सूची से बाहर था.
आईसीसी आमतौर पर खिलाड़ियों को 1 से 100 तक कोई भी नंबर चुनने की अनुमति देता है. भारत में जर्सी नंबर के लिए उपलब्ध विकल्पों पर सीमाएं हैं. बीसीसीआई के एक अधिकारी ने कहा कि वर्तमान में भारतीय टीम के नियमित खिलाड़ियों और दावेदारों के लिए लगभग 60 नंबर दिए जा चुके हैं. इसलिए भले ही कोई खिलाड़ी लगभग एक साल तक टीम से बाहर हो, हम उसका नंबर किसी नए खिलाड़ी को नहीं देते हैं. इसका मतलब है कि हाल ही में डेब्यू करने वाले खिलाड़ी के पास चुनने के लिए केवल 30 से अधिक संख्याएं होती हैं.
फिक्सिंग का आरोप लगाने वाले अधिकारी को मिली सजा
एक तरफ बीसीसीआई ने धोनी की विरासत के सम्मान में 7 नंबर की जर्सी को रिटायर किया है, वहीं दूसरी ओर मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय ने धोनी द्वारा दायर अदालत की अवमानना याचिका में आईपीएस अधिकारी संपत कुमार को 15 दिनों की कैद की सजा सुनाई. आईपीएस अधिकारी ने दावा किया गया था कि धोनी 2013 में सट्टेबाजी और फिक्सिंग में शामिल थे. न्यायमूर्ति एसएस सुंदर और न्यायमूर्ति सुंदर मोहन की पीठ ने कुमार को अपील दायर करने की अनुमति देने के लिए सजा को 30 दिनों के लिए निलंबित रखा है.
